Division B Techsplorer Event

Students from nine schools came together for two days of career exploration, creativity and connection with women and gender-diverse professionals in STEM and the Skilled Trades. The Honourable Nolan Young, Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration, helped kick off the event with a message about the importance of creating pathways to Skilled Trades careers in Nova Scotia.

Throughout the event, students brought career exploration to life, from creating LEGO centrepieces inspired by their role models to taking the stage for creative career presentations featuring skits, trivia, music and more. Techsploration alumna Katherine Martin also shared her journey into ocean technology, demonstrating where early exposure to career possibilities can lead.

The event concluded with a 17-station career Round Robin, and Bible Hill Junior High taking home the presentation competition title. Students were then officially welcomed into the Techsploration alumnae community, opening the door to future career exploration opportunities, alumnae programming and post-secondary scholarships.
