Now in its fourth year in Ontario, and for the first year in-person, Techsploration is offering programming to grade 9 students. Based on our award-winning Nova Scotia-based program model. Techsploration’s Ontario programming is currently offered through what we call, “Career Quest.”
Young women and those who identify as female or non-binary in grade 9 attend a conference where they explore careers in science, engineering, trades, and technology. The conference features motivational speakers, conversations with women working in STEM, and hands-on workshops.
After the event, students go back to school with their newfound knowledge and create a presentation to demonstrate what they learned, and compete for the coveted Top Presentation Award, a $250 cash prize for the winning school!
